Costs

If you act for yourself and wish to have advice and assistance only, we can provide you with that service at a reduced cost. You will know that you have a competent solicitor dealing with your query.

Information as to court fees are available from the HMCS website.  The fees are reviewed annually in April.  At this time the cost of the court fee for issuing a divorce petition is £300 and the fee for the decree absolute is £40.

If you are on a low income you can apply to the court not to pay the court fee, or to pay a reduced fee.  We can advise you about this.

Forms are available free of charge on the HMCS website.

We will give you an individual fees quotation which specifically covers the level of service you require from us. That may be to help you fill in necessary forms and providing you with assistance in dealing with third parties, or it may be that you will require full representation in court proceedings.  In any event, as your case is individual, we will tailor our fees to suit your instructions and your needs.
